Wanda Hughes
Executive Director

Wanda Hughes is an Elizabeth City native, who was named the Executive Director in 2019.  She attended the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public School System and holds a bachelor’s degree in bilogy from Elizabeth Ciry State University.  In addition she futhered her education at the Word of Faith Bible Institue, Vintage Bible College and Seminary, and currently working towards her doctrorate from Andersonville Theological Seminary.

She joined Just Girls Hearts Of The Albemarle, in hopes to build on it’s mission to help girls ages 5 to 18 to overcome economic, social and gender barriers, to help make healthy lifestyle choices, and to be independent future young women that will become leaders in our society . 

She cites as her foundational Bible verse Romans 1:16, “I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it is the power of God unto salvation to all that believe.”
